Why I Started Soltra.
Aloha, my name is Max. I was born December 27th, 2004 in Oahu, Hawaii.
When I turned 16, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer. The doctors gave her six months. Miraculously, after four years of countless treatments and medications, she was still fighting.
In September of 2025, I moved to Austin, Texas and worked in the solar industry. Six months in, I got a call from my dad — my mom had developed a brain tumor, and I needed to come home. Shortly after, on April 11th, 2026, she passed away.
I started this business as a way to stay here with my family — but soon realized I could use it to give back beyond just my family. So, in honor of my lovely mom, I've committed to donating 5% of every cleaning to the UH Cancer Research Center. To support not only our local medical research, but also the fight against cancer.
If you have your own story with cancer, I'll double the donation on your behalf.
A fight for family. A fight against cancer. Thank you all for your support.
